Once again Drak, I certainly hope you're right and I'm wrong, but I see no evidence of Europe wanting to go out any way other than with a whimper. There have always been right wingers in France. Although it isn't fiction, I was so glad that I read a book that was recommended on another thread, "Sixty Million Frenchmen Can't Be Wrong: Why We Love France but Not the French" by Jean-Benoit Nadeau and Julie Barlow. Jan 25, 2012 - The book describes a world and a manner of being I know little about, despite living within its midst these past six or so years; but Paris, like many large cities is not necessarily typical of the rest and after listening to others discuss this book, opinion is I recall reading 'Sixty Million Frenchmen can't be wrong' by Jean-Benoit Nadeau and Julie Barlow, a Canadian attempt to understanding France and the French and their effort to explain the root of the differences. Apr 2, 2009 - 60 million Frenchmen can't be wrong, Le Divorce, French women don't get fat, French women don't sleep alone, Entre Nous: A Woman's Guide to Finding Her Inner French Girl, Merde Actually, Talk to the snail, 2. This was only a very small amount of French people. May 15, 2013 - Why even the French are giving up on their own country. You must notice that they were few thousands only. Oct 4, 2012 - The other subgenre is more serious pseudo academic approach of which my favourite is '60 million Frenchmen can't be wrong: Why we love France but not the French' by Julie Barlow and Jean-Benoit Nadeau. Feb 3, 2014 - The videos (one is posted below) are rather shocking, showing thousands of Frenchmen yelling “Jews, France is not yours,” while marching through Paris giving Nazi salutes. The problem I'm sure there were interesting chapters at the end (like, possibly, "The World According to France" or "The Meaning of Europe") but I could care less. Most of them are in favor of tougher penalties for crime, but see that politicians, left or right, talk, but do not act and seem overwhelmed by an out-of-control situation. Oh, well, as the saying goes, "100 million Frenchmen can't be wrong.". I learned a bunch about France, what makes the French tick, French history, the social structure, the comparisons between France and the rest of Europe and France and North America, and the list goes on. Sep 7, 2005 - Sixty Million Frenchmen Can't Be Wrong. In France we are over 60 million of people. Can't speak for others, but I saw all of these with my own eyes. The French don't have petrol but they have ideas: TGV, not invading Irak, keep on nuclear testing… er no. I swear that the sun does revolve around Paris, just look at my tan! The French are constantly on holiday.
